In 2016 Mash Netball Club Inc was founded, having started its journey in 2012 through Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School (SHCPS) Netball and subsequently joined by MacKillop Catholic College (MCC) Netball in 2014.
Supported by many amazing people, Sharon Forsyth (Club President) has returned every year since 2012, working with SHCPS and MCC netball teams as well as Palmerston & the rural community. Starting out with just two junior teams in 2012 and growing to nine junior teams in 2015; Sharon made the decision to form a club to better support community needs and the development of netball in the region.
Mash entered senior teams in both the DNA and PNA competitions in 2016 and have continued to enter senior teams in both associations since forming. In 2019, Mash entered the DNA competition with junior teams for the first time (13's and 15's) and followed up in 2020 with junior teams in 11's and 17's as well. In 2019, it was also fantastic to see Mash players selected in the NT representative teams for the National School sports competition.
Mash had 20 teams and 180 players registered in 2020, having terrific success in the PNA competition winning the 11's, 13's and 15's competition and runners up in the seniors competition. Mash had fantastic success in the DNA competition as well with all four junior teams making it into the final series.
Mash Netball Club is a grass roots club that focuses on both introducing those new to netball into our game and further developing those that have varying levels of skill and experience. Mash has many wonderful and skilled volunteers that will support all players and officials including those new to coaching and umpiring, to further benefit and grow the game we all love!

umpires, coaches and officials and a high performance pathway for our players.
We will engage with the community and member associations to provide
opportunities for our players and members. We will actively promote the Netball
Australia member protection policy.
Key Principles
- Develop strength and resilience in our
players; grow as a team
- Develop competitive and persistent
behaviours (build resilience and hunger); be the best you can be
- Don’t compromise the brand (MASH);
Integrity and trust is paramount to our club
- Officials, umpires, coaches, managers,
supporters, family and friends are all part of the game and are to be
respected; without them the game cannot progress
- Parents are part of the journey;
parent contribution is necessary and valued
- A player’s commitment to the club and the team
is key to our values. Player contribution back to the club is valued and necessary.
We can only grow as a club if everyone is willing to give up some time to
support our club; Paying it Forward
- Netball is not just about playing netball - it
is so much more; building strong confident people in our community
We need you to support the club and we are always looking for volunteers who have a passion to coach, umpire, manage, play and support. In return you will be supported by people with experience and the same passion.
